Utilizing User-Generated Content and GIS for Flood Susceptibility Modeling in Mountainous Areas: A Case Study of Jian City in China

Floods are threats seriously affecting people’s lives and property globally. Risk analysis such as flood susceptibility assessment is one of the critical approaches to mitigate impacts. However, inadequate field survey lack data might hinder mapping susceptibility. The emergence user-generated content (UGC) in era big provides new opportunities for risk management. This research proposed a model using UGC potential source conducted empirical Ji’an County China make up ground mountainous-hilly areas. article used python crawlers obtain geographic location floods City from 2016 2019 social media, state-of-the-art MaxEnt algorithm was adopted occurrence map. map verified by crawled reliable official which achieved an average AUC 0.857% overall accuracy 93.1%.
